Founder of LINPAC dies

September 2002

The LINPAC Group Limited
EVAN CORNISH CBE
1920 - 2002

It is with deep regret that I announce the sudden death of Mr. Evan Cornish, the founder of the LINPAC Group and its Chairman until his retirement in 1992.

Evan went into hospital last Wednesday as he was experiencing some respiratory problems. During Thursday night and Friday his condition deteriorated and he passed away peacefully, whilst sleeping, at approximately 8.00 pm on Saturday 31st August 2002.

Evan gave a large part of his life to establishing and developing the LINPAC Group and since his retirement he has shared, with pride, the Group's continued growth. In the last few years his diminishing eyesight frustrated him, but his mind remained as sharp and active as ever, not just in business matters, where he always wanted to be updated and remembered to 'LINPAC' people around the world, but on the many challenges endured by society today.

Evan will be sadly missed by all who had the pleasure to know him, but at this time our thoughts and prayers are for his family, his wife Ethel - Michael, his sisters Barbara, Mary, Sally, Rachael and the 18 grandchildren,

It is expected that the funeral will be attended by family and close friends and that a Memorial Service, to celebrate Evans's life, will be arranged at some time in the near future.
