Viscount Acquires Specialist SA Painting Business

Viscount Plastics today announced it had acquired the South Australian based business, AK Stone Guards Australia Pty Ltd (AKS).
AKS is a specialist plastics painting business operating in the automotive industry and was formerly South African owned. The acquisition provides Viscount with the in-house capability to mould, paint and assemble high-quality plastic components for its automotive and industrial customers.
"The AKS business complements our own South Australian operations and enables us to expand our service offering," said Viscount's Managing Director, Mr Mike Dwyer.
"AKS currently employs around 20 people and we plan to retain them all as they offer us skills and experience that we currently do not have," said Mr Dwyer.
Viscount is a leading Asia Pacific manufacturer of rigid plastics packaging and automotive components and is owned by the UK based Linpac Group. In addition to its interests in Australia, Viscount has operations in China, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia and New Zealand.
