Viscount Plastics is expanding its automotive operations in Australia as a result of strong domestic demand, a renewed focus on the sector and increasing exports of locally manufactured vehicles.
The company, which manufactures exterior and interior trim and related products has increased its capacity in Adelaide in 2003 and is planning to invest further in 2004 to support the growth in its customer base, said Managing Director, Mike Dwyer.
"With automotive manufacturers increasing their use of plastics to achieve weight, economic and decorative advantages, we are experiencing excellent growth in the Australian market".
"The growing use of polymers throughout the automotive industry has been well documented and we are finding the demand for our products is increasing both in Australia and internationally", said Mr. Dwyer.
Viscount's General Manager Automotive said "From Adelaide and Melbourne we supply Mitsubishi, Ford and Holden and have recently won significant new contracts for niche Holden models".
