Viscount to open third plant in China

Viscount Plastics has announced its intention to open a third manufacturing facility in China. The new plant is located near Beijing and is due for completion in March.
Viscount's Managing Director, Mr Mike Dwyer, says the new facility will concentrate largely on rigid packing products such as pails and cartridges.
"The plant will occupy 20,000 sq m and is located at Langfang just outside Beijing and it will initially employ 80 people. The company will be known as Langfang Viscount Plastics.
"The increasing demand for all our products in China has encouraged us to build this facility to add to the existing assets in Guangzhou and Changzhou.
"The ongoing construction programs across China have created strong demand for our packaging products that are used for paints, sealants adhesives, chemicals and many other building products," said Mr Dwyer."In addition, our pails are being used in the food industry which is also growing rapidly in China.
"China is now our single largest national market for packaging products," he said.
Viscount is Australia's largest plastics injection moulding business. It manufactures and markets ranges of packaging, automotive, industrial and materials handling products. In addition to its interests in China, Viscount has operations in Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia and New Zealand.
